Our emergency department provides emergency care to patients regardless of language barriers or possession of Hungarian medical insurance (TAJ). Patients who don't have a Hungarian medical insurance card (TAJ card) receive equal medical care but have to pay for the services on site at the time of discharge from ED, via credit/debit card. Our emergency department provides care on the basis of urgency, and not on a first-come-first-served basis. We use the Hungarian Triage Acuity Scale in the triage process, and prioritize those who have a true medical emergency.
