A 15-member professional delegation from the SAHK Institute in Hong Kong visited the András Pető Faculty (of Semmelweis University) to enhance their knowledge in the field of Conductive Education through a 30-hour professional training course. The delegation was led by Dawn Suk-Fan Tang, Deputy Chief Executive of SAHK, and Ivan Su, who first visited us in 1989 and even studied under Dr. Mária Hári.

The 30-hour training course, designed according to the visitors’ needs, aimed to introduce the new generation of physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and special education teachers from the Hong Kong institution to the operation of the András Pető Faculty and the professional work carried out at the mother institution. For this purpose, the group visited the Faculty’s elementary school, vocational school, kindergarten, early development centre, and adult outpatient clinic. They attended lectures on the Travelling Conductor Service, adaptive sports, the kindergarten special education program, the Faculty’s international and academic relations, and several currently running scientific research projects. They observed a conductive control assessment and also visited the Rehabilitation Clinic of Semmelweis University as part of the program. A management meeting was also held to discuss further potential collaboration opportunities.
At the end of the dense and substantive program, the guests expressed their desire to visit us again in the near future.
