The András Pető Faculty of Semmelweis University has inaugurated its newly renovated playground. The project was supported by the Semmelweis University Foundation, the Foundation for Conductive Education Kindergarten, and contributions from a number of sponsors and tax donations.

Rector Dr. Béla Merkely highlighted the importance of a playground where children with and without disabilities can play together, fostering an inclusive mindset from a young age. This investment was made possible by multiple benefactors via the 1% tax donations andcontributions from partners like BiotechUSA and Ultrabalaton.

The renovated playground is part of a larger series of developments since the faculty’s integration into the university in 2017, which have improved the campus with over 1.5 billion HUF in funding. The kindergarten focuses on conductive education for children with central nervous system injuries and also runs integrated groups where they learn alongside peers with mild disabilities and typical development.

Dr. Éva Szabó Feketéné, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development, thanked everyone who contributed to the project, emphasizing that the faculty’s integration into the university has been a great success. Representatives from the supporting organizations also spoke, expressing pride in contributing to a project that promotes a more accepting and healthy Hungarian society.
