INTERNATIONAL SUMMER UNIVERSITY
The first program of the jubilee year is the International Summer University from 1-2 September. This year we organized the fourth Summer University, but for the first time in an international form, in honor of the Semmelweis International 40. Events in Hungarian and English took place in parallel in the lecture halls of the Centre of Theoretical Medicine. The organizers were awaiting the audience with a variety of presentations and exciting discussions.
OPENING CEREMONY
The official and ceremonial opening of the academic year is the Opening Ceremony on 3 September, part of the curriculum, where first-year students take their vows in three languages every year.
SEMMELWEIS SYMPOSIUM
The university’s most prestigious scientific event, the Semmelweis Symposium, has also been part of Semmelweis International 40 this year, covering a wide range of topics. Featured speakers included internationally renowned experts, alumni, and senior colleagues of Semmelweis University.
INTERNATIONAL ONLINE OPEN DAYS
In the spring, International Online Open Days will be organized, where students will be able to learn more about the university’s foreign-language study programs.

From 31 March to 2 April 2023, the 50th Medic Cup will be hosted by Semmelweis University, celebrating its international jubilee.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The hybrid, English-language International Conference on Educational Development will be held between 4-5 May, focusing on the current trends and challenges in medical and health sciences education.
