The Gastroenterology Research Group consists of 16 third-year and 8 fourth-year students, supported by 4 scientific-methodological and 25 clinical supervisors. Their research spans a wide range of gastroenterological and hepatological topics, including pancreatic-biliary diseases, acute pancreatitis, C. diff infections, GERD, IBD, hepatology, radiology, diabetes, microscopic colitis, probiotics, gastrointestinal bleeding, and diagnostic methods for pancreatic cancer.

The students primarily participate in meta-analyses, but they also conduct registry analyses, develop clinical trial protocols, prepare narrative reviews, and contribute to questionnaire-based surveys and ongoing clinical studies. This multidisciplinary structure strengthens collaboration and contributes to a deeper understanding of key issues in gastroenterology and hepatology.
