Dear Student,
The foundation of success in the doctoral program is research work and the completion of mandatory credits. Based on previous experience, starting from the 2025/26/2 spring semester, a new rule will apply:
From the next semester onward, enrollment in Neptun will only be possible if the “Research Work / Research Progress” course was signed in the previous active semester.
Research Work
- Applies to students who started their studies before September 1, 2025
- Signed and evaluated by the supervisor at the end of the semester
- Grades: Unsatisfactory, Average, Excellent
Research Progress
- Applies to students who started their studies after September 1, 2025
- Signed and evaluated by the supervisor at the end of the semester
- Grades: Unsatisfactory, Satisfactory, Good, Excellent
Important:
Please note that, according to the decision of the Doctoral Council on October 16, 2025, for students who began their studies after September 1, 2025 with a state scholarship, if they receive a “Satisfactory” evaluation in two consecutive semesters, they may be transferred to a self-financed status. The detailed regulation is included in the Doctoral Regulations §8 (3).
The purpose of this change is transparency and accurate monitoring of academic progress. If the signature is missing at the end of the semester, the student will not be able to activate the new semester in neptun.
The deadline for grade entry is January 15. We kindly ask supervisors to sign the research courses by this date.
