Between the 1st and the 3rd of July, representatives of six EUniWell member universities participated in an on-site workshop in Budapest that marked an important milestone in the development of the Well-Being Oriented Healthcare Joint Master Program – one of the first ever joint Masters in EUniWell history.

The two and a half days long meeting – where Semmelweis University was represented by Dr. Ádám Orosz and Dr. Anett Leleszi-Tróbert, Associate Professors of the Department of Biophysics and Radiation Biology and the Institute of Mental Health – was filled with collaboration and a common commitment to shaping the future of European higher healthcare education through a joint, interdisciplinary, and values-driven academic program.

Finalizing the Curriculum

Over the course of the workshop, the Master Program’s four-semester structure was reviewed so now the project group can focus on finishing up the module descriptions, which will be a core part of the upcoming accreditation documentation.

More than administrative groundwork, this phase is about translating a shared educational philosophy into a coherent learning experience that prepares students to lead healthcare transformation with well-being as one of its focal points.

Solving Structural Challenges Together

During the workshop, another essential discussion point was the partnership agreement, which lays the legal and operational foundations of the program. The group also addressed key practical aspects related to student mobility and institutional collaboration – important steps in ensuring the program’s seamless implementation across national systems.

This collaborative approach highlights EUniWell’s potential to drive structural innovation and advocate for more coherent frameworks that support transnational education in practice.

Towards a Robust Self-Evaluation Report

The project group has completed the first version of the Self-Evaluation Report—a key component of the accreditation process. Each institution will now enrich the report with local insights, ensuring that it reflects both the shared vision of the program and the unique strengths of each partner.

Financial Foundations and Sustainability

The program is being developed with a clear focus on long-term sustainability. From the outset, partners have worked to design a structure that supports both academic excellence and financial viability.

Next Steps – From Momentum to Milestone

The project group is working towards welcoming the first cohort of students in autumn 2026, which reflects the dedication to creating a high-quality, future oriented program centered on well-being in healthcare.

The upcoming period will be a particularly exciting phase in the life of the project, as the academic and administrative frameworks take the final shape, bringing the program closer to a reality that reflects EUniWell’s core values and ambition to improve higher education and everyday life.

The event was funded by NRDI Fund from the National, Research, Development and Innovation Office.
