On 1 June, Semmelweis University began its two-week professional tour in China with an official visit to Xinjiang Fuhonglin Dental Hospital in Yining. The visit marked a particularly significant moment for the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs, as it was the first stop of Dr. Tamás Hegedüs, Director, during his first official professional visit to China.

The programme opened with welcome remarks by the hosts, highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation between Semmelweis University and Fuhonglin Dental Group. This was followed by a speech from Chairman Zhou Qilin, Chairman of Fuhonglin Dental Group, who emphasized the shared commitment to developing long-term professional and clinical collaboration.
Representing Semmelweis University, Dr. Tamás Hegedüs delivered a speech in which he underlined the University’s strong international orientation and its openness to building new partnerships in medical and dental education, clinical cooperation, and professional exchange. As part of the programme, Fuhonglin Dental Medical Group gave a detailed presentation on its activities, institutional background, and future cooperation priorities. Dr. Hegedüs then introduced Semmelweis University’s international profile, with special focus on potential areas of clinical and educational collaboration.
A central element of the visit was the strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Semmelweis University and Fuhonglin Dental Hospital. During the ceremony, Semmelweis University awarded Fuhonglin Dental Hospital the title of “China Strategic Cooperation Partner”.
Following the official ceremonies, the participants gave interviews to local media representatives, including Yili Zero Distance and the Media Center. The programme continued with a hospital tour, professional networking, offering the Semmelweis representative an insight into the institution’s clinical and educational activities.
The visit to Xinjiang Fuhonglin Dental Hospital served as an important opening step in Semmelweis University’s China professional tour. It also reflected the University’s commitment to strengthening its presence in China and developing meaningful international partnerships in healthcare, education, and clinical practice.
