The delegation from the Zhejiang University Stomatology School/Hospital visited Semmelweis University on 29 October 2025, with the purpose of signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
The delegation was received by Dr. Gábor Gerber, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and Assistant Lecturer Dr. Anna Júlia Dézsi. The meeting was also attended by Judit Szlovák, Head of the Bilateral and Priority German Relations Department, and Edit Koncz, International Relations Expert, representing the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affirs. During the discussions, Dr. Gerber Gábor presented the structure and operations of Semmelweis University, as well as the activities and organization of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Members of the Zhejiang University Stomatology School/Hospital delegation included Qianming Chen, Dean of the School of Stomatology; Ping Sun, Director of the Zijinjiang Division of the Stomatology Hospital; Peng Deng, Young Talent Researcher at the Stomatology Hospital; and Lingkai Su, Deputy Director of the Talent Office. In their presentation, they highlighted that their institution is Zhejiang Province’s only Class-A stomatology hospital and the leading center for oral healthcare in the region. They also emphasized their extensive international partnerships, which they aim to further expand through cooperation with Semmelweis University.

Both parties expressed a strong interest in close collaboration, particularly in the field of student exchange programs for dentistry students. The newly signed cooperation agreement will provide the framework necessary for these initiatives.
Following the signing ceremony, the delegation continued its visit at the Faculty of Dentistry, where Dr. Anna Júlia Dézsi guided them through the facilities. They gained insight into the operation of the Department of Propedeutics and visited the teaching clinics, lecture halls, and the newly established digital laboratories.
The programme then continued at the Department of Oro-Maxillofacial Surgery and Stomatology, where Prof. Dr. Árpád Joób-Fancsaly, Deputy Director, and Dr. Kinga Körmöczi, Assistant Professor, welcomed the guests and presented the structure, functions, and main activities of the clinic. The meeting was followed by a guided tour of the clinical departments.
The visit concluded in the office of Professor Emeritus Dr. György Szabó, where the guests enriched the clinic’s guestbook with their signatures and well-wishes.
