In 2025, students and staff of Semmelweis University will be able to visit the Botanical Garden of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) free of charge.

The shared history of Eötvös Loránd University and Semmelweis University is of paramount importance to both institutions. To strengthen the relationship between the two universities, Eötvös Loránd University has offered free admission to the ELTE Botanical Garden to students and staff of Semmelweis University.

Students can visit the ELTE Botanical Garden free of charge with a student ID card, and staff can visit it free of charge by showing their Semmelweis card.

The oldest botanical garden in the country, founded in 1771, is a “green island” in the concrete chaos of the capital with its 3.5-hectare relaxing park and 2,000 m2 greenhouses. The more than 8,000 plant species help visitors to recognize the diversity of the plant world. Visitors can learn about the world of plants at nearly 20 events and children’s activities every year.
