FOK III.

Requirements in Oral Surgery I. for 3rd Year Dental Students in the 2nd Term of the
Year 2017/2018
 
a. See the topics on a separate sheet.
b. Attendance of the lectures and of the practicales is compulsory and will be regularly
checked.
c. In practical classes knowledge of the material presented will be tested in the oral midterm on the 6th week. A pass in this midterm is obligatory for participating in oral surgical treatment of patients. The midterm on the 6th week will be held during practice by the group supervisor. The topic of the midterm is theoretical and practical material of the first six weeks of this semester and prevoius semester. In case of unsuccessful midterm result, there are 3 possibilities for a retake. The first two will be with the group supervisor and the third will be with the head of the Outpatient ward, ( Dr. Árpád Joób-F.) or his vice-head (Dr. Attila Szűcs). In case of 3 unsuccessful retakes, the semester will not be accepted and must be repeated.
d. A written midterm test will be held on week 8 at the venue and time of the lecture covering the 5th and 6th semesters. A pass in both midterms is the condition for acceptance of the term.
e. Further oral and written tests may take place at the discretion of the teacher.
f. The absences on week 6th and 10th have to be certified. In case of uncertified absences, the mark of that midterm would be considered as „failed”. This mark determines the final
grade. In case of failed midterm there are two possibilities to retake (except as written in
“point c”).
g. The signature at the end of the term may be denied if a student:
– missed more than 3 classes.
– shows ignorance in the material presented at the classes.

FOK IV.

Requirements in Oral Surgery III. for 4th year Dental Students in the 2nd Term of the Year 2017/2018

a. See the topics on a separate sheet.
b. Attendance at the lectures and the practices is compulsory and will be regularly checked.
c. In practical classes knowledge of the material presented at the lectures and practices will beregularly tested. A written midterm test will be held on week 11 at the venue and time of the lecture concerning the material covered in the third and fourth years. A pass in the midterm is the condition of acceptance of the term. Absence from midterm is only accepted in case of presenting a valid certificate. In case of uncertified absences the mark of that midterm would be considered as „failed”. In case of failed midterm there are two possibilities to retake it. Passing all the midterms is the condition of releasing a student to the exam.
d. The signature at the end of the term may be denied if a student (we’ll inform on the 13 th week at the latest):
– misses more than 3 lectures.
– misses more than 3 practices.
– shows ignorance of the material presented at the lectures and the practices.
– the average of the midterm grades is below 2 (pass).
e. There is a semifinal examination (a written test) at the end of the second term of the fourth year for those 4th students who commenced their studies in 2012 or later. Those who commenced their studies in 2011 or earlier will get a practical grade.
f. The textbook ’Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery’ and notes made at the lectures and
practices are recommented as a study material.

FOK V.

Requirements in Oral Surgery V. for 5th year Dental Students in the 2nd Term of the Year 2017/2018

a. See the topics on a separate sheet.
b. Attendance of the lectures and the practices is compulsory and will be regularly checked. Practices: one week practice in the inpatient wards: see on a separate sheet.
c. In practical classes knowledge of the material presented at the lectures and practices will be regularly tested.
d. The signature at the end of the term may be denied if student (we’ll inform on the 13th
week at latest):
– misses more than 3 lectures or 30% of practices.
– shows ignorance of the material presented at the lectures and the practices.
e. There is a final examination at the end of the second term of the fifth year.
f. The textbook„OralSurgery,MaxillofacialSurgery”and notes made at the lectures and
practices are recommented as a study material.
 
The maximum number of absences in a semester is 3. More than 3 absences invalidate the semester. During the semester three midterm examinations should be passed. Practical course grade: (five-scaled).
