Project Description:

Anett Rancz is a newly graduated medical doctor and her main field of interest is microscopic colitis (MC). In her first project, she will assess the prevalence of low bone density and osteoporosis in patients with MC through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The results of this study could help to decide if screening is necessary. Her second project is also a systematic review and meta-analysis, focusing on the risk factors of microscopic colitis. Anett plans to collect all the data regarding lifestyle factors (e.g. smoking, alcohol consumption) and medications (e.g., nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, proton pump inhibitors, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), which may contribute to the development of this disease.
