Project Description:

Anna Noémi Németh is a fist year resident doctor in Gastroenterology. Her main area of research is pancreatic cancer. Her first project is a meta-analysis investigating the impact of lag-time between the start of diagnostic procedure and treatment on the prognosis in patients with pancreatic cancer. Earlier diagnosis of pancreatic cancer could lead to a significantly improved survival rate. Her second project will be to establish a registry for pancreatic solid lesions. Data collected in a structured solid tumor registry could provide information regarding early diagnosis, screening, assessment of risk factors, etc. Also, as a third project, she will perform a registry analysis to assess the effects of the 4/7 strategy (4 days until diagnosis, 7 days until treatment initiation) on the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer and health care costs.
