Project Description:

Csenge is a newly-graduated medical student from the University of Szeged and her main area of interest is in anesthesiology. As her first project, she initiated a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effects of individualized vs. conventional positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) settings on perioperative outcomes in patients undergoing abdominal surgery. The clinical implication of her study is to improve perioperative oxygenation and reduce postoperative pulmonary complications. In addition, she is now preparing the establishment of a national and international patient registry on acute hypoxaemic respiratory failure. She aims to prospectively collect high-quality data on standards of care, procedures, and outcomes regarding the treatment of patients in Hungarian and international intensive care units. Lastly, she plans a second meta-analysis about adjuvant hemoadsorption therapy in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).
