Progress Reports are held every 3 or 6 months, aligned with the academic year. Attendance is compulsory for every student, and the events cannot be rescheduled.
Each PR presentation consists of an 8–10-minute talk followed by a 4-minute discussion, during which the audience is free to ask questions about the project. The goals are to track students’ and projects’ progress, improve presentation skills, and strengthen professional connections among students.
PR VI serves as the Comprehensive Exam and must be completed by the end of the second year. From the third year onward, students begin preparing their thesis; therefore, PR VII acts as the internal defence, while PR VIII functions as the final thesis defence. By the time of the thesis defence, students will have presented their research nearly one hundred times.
