The Dentistry Research Group is composed of 18 students and 27 supervisors working across diverse fields of medicine. All branches of dentistry are represented within the group—including prosthodontics, community dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, implantology, and endodontics.

This multidisciplinary composition offers a unique opportunity for both PhD students and supervisors to engage in versatile discussions on clinical topics. Every student carries out systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses with the aim of improving clinical practice and positively impacting patients’ lives. In addition, numerous clinical trials and observational studies are conducted to generate high-level evidence within each specialty.

The team’s scientific-methodological supervisors (SMS) are Bianca Golzio, Xinyi Qian, Alexander Schulze Wenning, and Eszter Szalai, who coordinate a broad spectrum of research topics. The group leaders are Beáta Kerémi, Dániel Végh, and Gábor Varga—all recognized experts at Semmelweis University.
