Purpose of the Scholarship: To support the scientific advancement of MD-PhD students who do not receive state scholarships, based on excellence, to increase the number and quality of degree completions.

Available Scholarship:

  • An amount equivalent to 100% of the state PhD scholarship for students with zero tuition fees.
  • For students with a 70,000 HUF scholarship: an additional 70,000 HUF until the comprehensive exam, and 110,000 HUF after the complex  exam.

Eligibility:

  • MD-PhD students currently in zero tuition fee status or with a 70,000 HUF scholarship.

Conditions for Support:

  • Outstanding scientific activity.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • First-author D1 and Q1 publications.
  • Co-author D1 and Q1 publications.
  • 1st-2nd place and special awards at OTDK (National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference).
  • 1st-2nd-3rd place in Rector’s competitions.

Conditions for Scholarship Disbursement: The recipient commits to:

  • Reporting research results at the annual PhD Scientific Days event.
  • Meeting the degree requirements and submitting the doctoral dissertation within three years after the complex  exam.

Contract:

  • To be signed with Semmelweis University, including the obligation to repay the support if the commitments are not met.

Documents to be Submitted:

  • A publication list printed from MTMT, certified by the Central Library, including impact factors, citations, and journal rankings (based on SCImago ranking: D1, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4).
  • For accepted but not yet listed publications in MTMT, a letter of acceptance and a copy of the article’s title page.
  • Copies of certificates for placements in OTDK and Rector’s competitions.

Submission Deadline:

  • Applications must be submitted by email to phd.palyazatok@semmelweis.hu by June 15, 2025. Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt via email.

Notification of Results:

  • Applicants will be notified of the results by email by August 10.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Please note that providing false information in the application documentation will result in disqualification from all competitions announced by the Doctoral College.
