The Doctoral Student Association of University of Pécs (PTE DOK) is proud to organize its international multidisciplinary scientific event for the third time. The 3rd Interdisciplinary Doctoral Conference (IDK2014) is a joint international event consisting of the traditional IDK, the 1st organized by the University Student Council of UP (PTE EHÖK) and the Blossoming Almond Trees Science Days (MTN), and will be held from 15th–17th April 2014 at the Medical School of University of Pécs.
The main aim of the Conference is to create a platform and provide a good opportunity for the Hungarian and international doctoral students to exchange ideas, hold scientific presentations, and also for personal and professional networking.
Similarly to previous years, alongside the classic conference sections there will also be debates and round table discussions to examine the most current, key issues of several scientific fields. The interdisciplinary sessions aim to create dialogue after the presentations, where scientists of various fields may explore new perspectives.
Also similarly to previous years, the Conference is open for graduate students with outstanding scientific achievements to hold presentations. Parallel to IDK2014, the 1st Special College Days of Pécs will be held, organized by the University Student Council of UP. The most prominent graduate students attending this event are also welcome to speak at the closing day of IDK2014. We are happy to announce that from this year on the prestigious Blossoming Almond Trees Science Days is also merging with IDK.
Novelty compared to the previous years is a photo and art exhibition alongside an English and Hungarian language training that develops scientific and technical presentation skills. In addition, display opportunity will be provided for regional companies and higher education institutions, which will further enrich the event.
IDK2014 is under the patronage of Professor József Bódis, M.D., rector of University of Pécs, who is a determined supporter of young scientists and result-oriented innovative scientific research, and also a role model of the higher education and academic community. We are looking forward to the application of Hungarian and international doctoral students of all fields. Participants of the conference will be provided the opportunity to present their research findings in front of a prestigious scientific committee either as an oral presentation or an electronic poster. Moreover, artistic works of DLA students will also be showcased.
