On 12 June 2026, the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs of Semmelweis University hosted an international alumni meeting at the Embassy of Hungary in London. The Hungarian delegation included Dr. Éva Szabó Feketéné, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development; Dr. Péter Nyirády, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Andrea Zsebe Tenk Miklósné, Dean of the András Pető Faculty; Dr. Tamás Hegedüs, Director of the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs; Éva Czékmán, International Relations Expert; and Szabolcs Tiger, International Relations Advisor.

The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Ambassador Dr. Ferenc Kumin, followed by an address delivered by Dr. Éva Szabó Feketéné, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development, representing Rector Prof. Dr. Béla Merkely.
Following the opening remarks, Dean Dr. Péter Nyirády also welcomed the participants. Through his presentation, the more than eighty guests had the opportunity to learn about the life and work of Ignaz Semmelweis, the University’s namesake, as well as the institution’s history, mission, key developments, future objectives, and extensive international network.
In the closing segment of the event, Dean Dr. Andrea Zsebe Tenk Miklósné congratulated two outstanding UK-based organisations, Small Steps and Rainbow Centre, on receiving the “Designated Institute for Practice” title and formally presented them with the awards. In their acceptance speeches, the leaders of the honoured institutions reflected on their decades-long commitment to conductive education in the United Kingdom and emphasised their intention to further strengthen cooperation with their Hungarian partner institution.
Following the presentations, networking, reminiscing, and the exchange of professional experiences took centre stage among the alumni participants. The closing reception also provided an opportunity for informal conversations, enabling guests to further deepen their professional and personal connections.
