She is exceptionally diligent and supports CTM’s workflow in many areas. She enjoys being part of a team, believing that this is how work can be really effective. In June, Anna Ignáczné Fodor was named Staff Member of the Month at the Centre for Translational Medicine.

Anna has been working as a secretarial expert at CTM for a year, carrying out a wide range of tasks. Her role is increasingly enriched with HR responsibilities, and she also supports her colleagues in several other areas. “I request the necessary data and documents from new hires and collect those that employees should have submitted earlier but either forgot or need to update. I also arrange the annual occupational health examinations and mandatory trainings, and, if necessary, I assist in the recognition of certificates and diplomas obtained abroad. In addition, I support the administration related to international colleagues working at CTM as scientific methodology experts, such as organizing travel and conferences.”

Anna is also responsible for preparing the welcome kits. “I am also involved in the recruitment of Ph.D. students. For example, when we send information to hospitals about CTM’s Ph.D. program, my task is to follow up on their reception. As part of this, I contact the secretariats of the hospitals to find out whether their director general can schedule a meeting with Prof. Péter Hegyi, Director of CTM. During the Ph.D. admission period, I occasionally assist Réka Kaltenecker, who is responsible for student affairs at the secretariat.”

What Anna enjoys most about her work is its diversity, as she needs to be familiar with the tasks of many colleagues and remember a great deal of information. “These may seem difficult at first, but to me they are a source of joy – you just need to see the processes in detail. This job brings me great happiness because it was my childhood dream to become a secretary. I had never had the opportunity to work in this field before, so I was delighted when I found this back office position at CTM. I feel that I am doing something I truly enjoy, and that my work is genuinely valuable. We have a great team, and I am very happy to be part of it. It is a wonderful feeling that we all contribute to the smooth operation of CTM.”
