Erasmus+ Incoming Traineeships

Traineesip duration: minimum 60 days
One of important criteria: active student at your home university during your mobility period
Application deadlines:
Autumn semester (01 September – 31 January): 1–20 May

Spring semester (01 February – 31 August): 1–20 October

Eligible Fields of Study

 

😷Medicine: Only 5th  and 6th year students or PhD candidates. Post-graduation traineeships are not possible. 

🦷Dentistry: Only 4th students (very limited capacity). Post-graduation traineeships are not possible. 

💊Pharmacy: Only 5th  and 6th year students or PhD candidates. Post-graduation traineeships are not possible. 

🤗Health Sciences (Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy): All years of study

IMPORTANT! Applications are possible for the faculties mentioned above; however, in all cases, the application must be approved by the respective Faculty, not by the Mobility Office. After the form has been completed, we will inform the student of the final decision on whether we are able to host them.
We would like to inform students that we cannot issue a Letter of Acceptance until the respective clinic confirms that they are able to host them.

 

How to Apply

 

We only accept applications submitted via the online form. Applications sent by email are no longer accepted. All fields in the form must be completed.  You must also upload a completed draft of the Learning Agreement for Traineeships. This is required so that the clinics can see what the student intends to do during the traineeship.
If this document is not completed and uploaded, the application will be considered invalid.
Please note that our Mobility Office may not necessarily send a separate notification to the student about an invalid submission.

Final confirmation regarding acceptance: at least 56 weeks (please submit your application accordingly).

In Case of an Accepted Application – Required Steps

 

1st Step:

  1. The student must complete the required medical examinations in your home country.

2nd Step:

  1. We will send the Learning Agreement for Traineeships back to the student for signature (student + sending institution). It has already been signed by Semmelweis University. 
  2. Once it has been signed by the student and the sending institution, please send it back to us via e-mail in scanned form. 

3rd Step:

  1. Please book an appointment with our office before your arrival.

IMPORTANT! This is very important, as without an appointment we cannot guarantee that we will be able to receive you.
Other students also come to our office for administrative procedures. 

 

Upon Arrival – When the Student is Already Here at Semmelweis University

 

1st Step:

If you have not yet booked an appointment, please do so.

Without an appointment, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to assist you with the administrative process. 

2nd Step:

We provide the student with the Health Booklet (this booklet is mandatory for the entire traineeship period). 

3rd Step:

The student must activate their email address.

Activation Guide

4th Step:

After e-mail activation, the student must book an appointment for the Medical Aptitude Test. This is compulsory; the traineeship cannot start/continue without it. The Health Booklet is required for the test, and the doctor will record in it that the student attended the examination and whether the student is medically fit.

IMPORTANT! The aptitude test must be completed within 1–1.5 weeks after arrival. If this does not happen and the doctor does not confirm fitness in the booklet, the traineeship must be interrupted, and we will not issue the closing documents at the end of the traineeship. 

5th Step:

We provide a temporary student card for the period of your stay. The student can request this from the Registrar’s Office.

Upon Departure – Mobility Closure

 

1st Step:

Before the student comes for the closing administrative procedurethey should book an appointment.

2nd Step:

The student must bring the After the Mobility section with them, already signed by the clinic/department, and the signed Health Booklet too

3rd Step:

We will provide the student with the additional required closing documents (Transcript of Records, Certificate of Attendance, etc…).
