On March 22, 2024, Madrid hosted the alumni meeting of Semmelweis University, providing an excellent opportunity to nurture professional relationships and explore new avenues for cooperation. The event served as an inspiring meeting point for alumni and former students living and working in Spain, as well as for the university’s delegation that included Dr. Tamás Hegedüs, Director of the Alumni Directorate, as well as Levente Vágó, Deputy Director for Alumni Affairs.

As part of the program, representatives of the university visited the Embassy of Hungary in Madrid, where discussions with the Ambassador opened up new prospects for student recruitment in Spain and for institutional collaborations. The parties agreed that further strengthening educational and scientific ties between the two countries is in their mutual interest. The delegation also visited the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where professional consultations were held regarding potential partnerships. The aim of the visit was to explore new forms of cooperation and to reinforce existing relationships.
The alumni meeting in Madrid once again demonstrated that the Semmelweis community is active and cohesive on an international level. The University looks to the future with enthusiasm and remains committed to further strengthening its international presence and partnerships in Spain.
