Project Description:
Robert de Jonge is an orthopedic-traumatologist resident at the Uzsoki Street Hospital, Semmelweis University. He is working on a systematic review and meta-analysis regarding anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and investigates the osteoarthritic evolutions after ACL injury and reconstruction. His aim is to find the best practice to prevent osteoarthritis in patients with isolated ACL rupture. His second project will be a prospective observational follow-up study, where he would analyse injured and contralateral healthy knees on the aspect of developing early-onset post-traumatic osteoarthritis. He intends to compare ACL reconstruction with lateral extra-articular tenodesis with reconstruction alone. He also takes part in traumatology education as a member of the Semmelweis University, Department of Traumatology.
