OVERVIEW

The course is designed for experts interested in the pharmaceutical development related to the formulation of dosage forms. The course is focusing both on the theoretical and practical aspects of Drug Delivery Systems releated to physicochemical properties, excipients, structure and functionality.
The main topics of the course are technological and quality aspects, drug substances and excipients, design and basic manufacturing processes of drug delivery systems with patient centricity.

The course will cover the themes R&D, innovation and Intellectual Property, modern dosage form design: testing and evaluation of drug release profile, improvement of dissolution and solubility, immediate and modified drug release, prolonged release, site specific and targeted delivery principles, solids, multiparticulates, inhalers, parenterals, topical forms, nano and colloidal carrier systems, nanofibers, liposomes, OROS, ER, ODS, HBS systems, nanocarriers, 3D printing.

The course consist of 33 % theoretical part and 67 % practical part.

Applicants are required to pay a registration fee before the course.

  • Providing information on the production and use of pharmaceutical forms
  • Preparing project work and testing a range of technological operations in practice
  • Investigate principles of site-specific and targeted drug delivery systems.
  • Examine various types of dosage forms including solids, multiparticulates, inhalers, parenterals, and topical formulations.
  • Evaluate advanced drug delivery systems such as OROS, ER, ODS, and HBS systems.
  • Assess the role of nanocarriers in enhancing drug delivery efficiency and specificity.
  • Explore emerging technologies like 3D printing in pharmaceutical manufacturing and drug delivery systems.
