OVERVIEW
The Trainee shall attend practical classes and health care activities throughout the entire duration of the 12-month Program.
The Trainee shall complete the practical part of the Clinical Fellowship Program at the location and times, and under the direction of a professional superior, designated in a course plan.
Semmelweis University’s Clinical Departments that can be elected for rotation:
- Department of Emergency Medicine
- Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine & Intensive Care
- Heart and Vascular Center
- Department of Neurosurgery and Neurointervention
- Department of Surgery and Gastroenterology
- Department of Orthopedic Surgery
- Pediatric Center
- Clinic of Pulmonology
- Department of Obstetics and Gynecology
- Institute of Genomic Medicine and Rare Disorders
The Clinical Departments and rotation timeframes can be modified based on the participating student’s preferences.

Entry requirements
- The program is open to Post-graduate medical students
- Applicats need to posess a medicine degree issued by an authorized higher educational institution
- The Trainee is required to have some medical examination before entering the Program
Required language proficiency
Excellent English communication skills (minimum IELTS6 level)
Learning objectives
- Trainee will observe initial physical examination of patients,assist the administration on the patient’s file, record provisional diagnosis, suggest primary investigations and treatment plan provided that the treatment plan is discussed and approved by a senior team member.
- Trainee will follow up on the implementation of the prescribed course of treatment, obtain results of all ordered investigations, document the development of any complications that may ensue, and plan discharge and follow-up.
- Trainee will attend and observe in all clinical rounds done by the respective department physicians. Trainee will also have the opportunity to participate in the scientific activities organized by the departments.
- Trainee will have the opportunity to participate in different invasive and non-invasive procedures as an observer both diagnostics and therapeutics under the supervision of a senior team member.
