OVERVIEW

Intraoral splint therapy is still one of the most commonly chosen therapies for TMD today. There are several options for splint preparation, one of the quickest and most popular of which is the direct preparation method, whereby a prefabricated hard deep-drawn base is prepared by the dentist in the patient’s mouth to create a special surface.

During a suitable 5-hour course participants will learn the process of preparing one of the most used intraoral splint types, the Michigan splint, after a theoretical preparation. Working in pairs, participants will make splints for each other, guided every step of the way by our experienced instructors.

MAIN TOPICS:
  • Types of intraoral splints
  • The therapeutic significance of intraoral splints
  • Hands-on part
  • Four hours of hands-on splint making
  • Finishing and checking the surface of the prepared splints

The course is composed of 20 % theoretical part and 80 % practical part.
