Privacy Notice
Event
The purpose of this Privacy Notice (hereinafter „Notice”) is to provide information about the data processing activities related to the event (hereinafter „Event”) organized by Semmelweis University (hereinafter „University”).
In connection with the Event, the University establishes an online pre-registration platform through which it processes personal data necessary for successful organization of the Event, as detailed below.

The processing and retention of personal data provided is based on the voluntary consent of the data subject (hereinafter „Data Subject”), in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (of 27 April 2016) on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter „GDPR”).
Protection of Personal Data
The Data Controller respects the protection of personal data and, in accordance with the applicable legislation, ensures the proper processing and safeguarding of such data. The Data Controller may use personal data solely for the specified purpose, will not combine them with databases from other sources, and – in the absence of an express legal requirement – will transfer such personal data to third parties only with the explicit consent of the Data Subject. All reasonable efforts are made to ensure the security of such data.

Legal basis for data processing:
- In the case of registration, the Data Subject’s voluntary consent [GDPR Article 6(1)(a)].
Purpose of data processing:
- To facilitate registration necessary for the successful organization of the Event.
Duration of data processing:
- In the case of registration, until the Data Subject withdraws their voluntary consent or exercises their right to object.
Access to data:
- Personal data provided during registration is accessible only to the competent staff of the University. The University treats this data confidentially.
Data storage and security:
- The University takes appropriate measures to protect personal data, including from unauthorized access and unauthorized alteration.
- In the event of a data protection incident, as defined in Article 4(12) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (“GDPR”), the University, as the Data Controller, will report the incident to the competent supervisory authority without undue delay and no later than 72 (seventy-two) hours after becoming aware of it, and will inform affected Data Subjects if the incident is likely to pose a risk to their rights.

Beyond the above, the Data Subject may exercise their rights related to personal data processing in accordance with the GDPR and Act CXII of 2011 on the Right to Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information.
In the case of a violation of rights related to personal data, or the imminent risk thereof, the Data Subject may file a complaint with the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (www.naih.hu, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa Street 9-11., phone: +36 1/391-1400).
