Mária Hári Faculty Library and Resource Centre
The library of the András Pető Faculty is named after Mária Hári, who was Pető’s most crucial colleague in developing conductive pedagogy and in realizing conductor training. This is the only specialist library in conductive pedagogy. It also covers pedagogy, psychology, medicine, pediatrics, neurology, musculoskeletal disorders, and rehabilitation.
The library contains more than 30,000 volumes, of which approximately 2,500 are in English. Most of the books can be borrowed. Find more information about the library stock in the online catalog (OPAC) (libsrv.peto.hu).
Thousands of biomedical and other journals and several useful databases are available online through the Central Library (lib.semmelweis.hu). Some journals can also be read in printed form, mainly in Hungarian. We do not borrow journals.
Professional databases help with learning and research. Our database is KONPEDITA, which contains the digitized literature on conductive pedagogy (mainly in Hungarian). Actual students and faculty can only use it, presuming they are enrolled in the library.
Full-text databases, such as Science Direct or EBSCO Education Source, are available for promoting research.
For Semmelweis students, all Semmelweis University libraries can be used free of charge. However, a student ID and Neptun code are required for enrollment. Essential library services can be used without enrollment, but only registered readers can borrow.
Paid services available in the library include photocopying, printing, lamination, and spiral binding.
