How to Apply
After a successful Erasmus+ application at your home university, your institutional coordinator must nominate you to Semmelweis University. Once we have received the nomination and approved it, then we will contact you directly with further instructions.
If the form is completed incorrectly or incompletely, it will create additional work for both the student and us, and as a result, the administrative process will take even more time. So please read the application form carefully and complete it according to the instructions provided.
In Case of an Accepted Application – Required Steps
The following information applies to all of our Faculties.
IMPORTANT! At the time of application, when completing the Learning Agreement, only courses belonging to the given year of study may be selected, so courses from different years cannot be mixed. Once you have enrolled, however, it is possible to combine courses from different years if necessary. For this purpose, the During the Mobility document must be completed.
Required documents:
- Transcript of Records (issued in English by your home institution)
- Motivation Letter (written in English)
- English Language Certificate (minimum B2 level)
- Learning Agreement (with your chosen courses)
- List of currently attended courses
STEPS
- The student submits their application through the form.
- We review and check it.
- If everything has been submitted as requested, we send the student’s proposed Learning Agreement to the relevant Faculty for approval. In 99% of cases, the courses requested by the student are approved, although occasionally not all of them may be accepted. The Faculty will also indicate which group the student will be assigned to. This can be changed later if it does not suit the student.
- Once we have received the final Learning Agreement signed by the Faculties, it is then signed by the Head of the Mobility Office as well. After that, we send it to the student in scanned, digital form for further signatures (student + sending institution).
- We send the student access to our appointment booking system so that they can schedule a time for in-person administration once they know when they will arrive. Booking an appointment is mandatory. Without an appointment, we are unable to receive them.
- Once the Learning Agreement has been signed by both the student and the sending institution, we ask them to send it back to us with all four signatures.

IMPORTANT! This is very important, as without an appointment we cannot guarantee that we will be able to receive you.
Other students also come to our office for administrative procedures.
Before you Arrive at Our Institution
Medical Check-Up
The student must complete the required medical examinations in your home country.
Upon Arrival – When the Student is Already Here at Semmelweis University
1st STEP
Please visit the Mobility Office. If you have not already booked an appointment, please do so.
Appointment booking📆: https://calendly.com/mannevelinsote/30min
2nd STEP
We will provide you your Health Booklet (mandatory for the entire clinical placement period), the Certificate of Arrival and the Safety Regulations.
3rd STEP
The student must activate their email address.
4th STEP
After e-mail activation, the student must book an appointment for the Medical Aptitude Test. This is compulsory; the traineeship cannot start/continue without it. The Health Booklet is required for the test, and the doctor will record in it that the student attended the examination and whether the student is medically fit.
IMPORTANT! The aptitude test must be completed within 1–1.5 weeks after arrival. If this does not happen and the doctor does not confirm fitness in the booklet, the study must be interrupted, and we will not issue the closing documents at the end of the study.
5th STEP
After the in-person administration, you need to go to the Registrar’s Office so that they can register your subjects/courses and groups, and issue your temporary student ID.
