The Center for Health Technology Assessment supports the innovation carried out by researchers and clinicians at Semmelweis University by providing services in the field of health technology assessment, health economics, epidemiology, and health policy from the early phases of development until possible market entry. By providing such analyses the Center aims to promote the transformation of ideas and discoveries into products, procedures, and services that are economically exploitable and beneficial for patients. In case a health technology – developed at Semmelweis University – has the potential to benefit the public health care system, a reimbursement application might be prepared and submitted. The Center also coordinates the collection of documents (submission of reimbursement/health technology assessment dossiers) required for such reimbursement claims. Researchers at the Center work with the intent to publish their scientific achievements regularly and to provide up-to-date expert opinion in relevant questions.
