JOINT RESEARCH PROGRAM BY SEMMELWEIS UNIVERSITY AND MSD HUNGARY
ANNOUNCEMENT

Semmelweis University (SE; Budapest, Hungary) and MSD Pharma Hungary have committed to jointly develop a best-in-industry program designed to provide hand-on experience in conducting real world data analysis and outcomes research studies within the scope of joint research and talent development. We are looking for a creative and well-structured mind who is passionate about challenges that are to be solved his unique skills in analyzing complex data sets and manage multi-level projects.  

Program description:

Joint research project in the disease area of melanoma malignum, in the field of real-world data analysis and outcome research. Additional therapeutic areas may be added to ensure the objective of talent development, i.e. to cover and improve a broad spectrum of retrospective outcome research skills of the Researcher. Skills to improve and tasks to carry out during the program can include but not limited to:

  • Burden of illness study
  • Literature review
  • Investigation of the disease area (e.g. unmet need, patient mapping, practice pattern)
  • Outcome research study design/protocol development
  • Disease modeling
  • Economic modeling
  • Statistical analysis (data collection/mining, meta-analysis, etc.)
  • Writing/presenting scientific abstract, manuscript

The Researcher shall work on the research project based on the Research Work Plan with SE and with the support of MSD. During the Program the Researcher shall prepare a conference presentation on the developments of the research project and shall strive to achieve publication of a related article in a renowned scientific journal.

Number of positions:
Application deadline: 20 Jun 2020.
Start date: 15 July 2020. 
Length of program: 1 year full-time (with the option of extension for 1 additional year)
Educational requirements: MS/MPH/PhD/ScD/DrPH in outcomes research, epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, statistics, health services research, health economics or a related area OR MD with proven experience in performing applied medical research including data analysis

Sites: Budapest, Hungary, Time shared 50-50% at SE and MSD Hungary

Other requirements: 

  • Full-time availability for the Project Term, in accordance with usual working hours

    • proficiency in MS Excel (Visual Basic is an advantage) and in SAS or SPSS or other equivalent statistical package

Fluency in written and oral English; excellent communication & presentation skills
