The Szkéné Theater has been operating for more than five decades in the imposing central building of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Today, the Szkéné is one of the most important independent and inclusive artistic centers, where many well-known and, in some cases, world-famous artists have launched their careers. The Krétakör started here, the Arvisura Theatre Company worked here for a long time, and the Monteverdi Wrestling Club performed here, to name a few.
Nowadays, other big names such as the Forte Company, the Vádli Occasional Theatre Company, the Nézőművészeti Kft. and popular actors such as Zoltán Mucsi, Péter Scherer and Tamás Fodor perform night after night.
