The Semmelweis Ignác College for Advanced Studies (SISZK in short) is a sub-insitution of the Semmelweis University founded in 2019. It is located in Budapest, Hungary. Our organization operates as a part of the Semmelweis University based on decree #139/2019 (XII. 12.) of the Senate of the Semmelweis University but also self-actively and independently by the law.

The achieve our goals, our institution functions as democratically self-governing student association by regulating itself via the “Organizational and Operational Rules” which contains our directive and gives an exact legal framework to our day-to-day activity.

Our institution is independent from political parties and does not participate in any political activities. The Semmelweis Ignác College for Advanced Studies does not support political parties or other politicians and does not nominate members to the Parliament of Hungary.

Our activities and goals are the following:
– Operating a professional student organization
– Completing the educational activities of the Semmelweis University, helping to acquire the knowledge necessary for a successful scientific career by organizing courses and lectures
– Satisfying the scientific interest of the students through scientific conferences
– Introducing and promoting health care and health related professions within and outside the Semmelweis University
– Creating a community space for talented students from different faculties, holding regular community programs
– Searching for cooperation opportunities with domestic and foreign universities and other organizations active in the field of science, research and development
– Stimulating the cultural and community life of the faculties

Although our institution is self-organizing, regarding infrastructural and bureaucratic matters, we tightly collaborate with other units of the Semmelweis University as well as other student organizations.

We strongly believe that our initiative is a giant leap for the students and the Semmelweis University as a whole. We aim to help the Semmelweis University reaching higher place in rankings and gaining more well-qualified researchers and teachers.
