AICER (Anatomy & Innovation Center for Education and Research) is a new center currently under development at Semmelweis University, one of Central Eastern Europe’s leading medical institutions with a high proportion of international students. The center is designed to become a flagship hub for cadaver-based surgical education, translational research, and medical innovation. AICER aims to combine the university’s long-standing expertise in anatomy and surgical training with cutting-edge infrastructure and digital technologies.
AICER is expected to take on a pivotal role in surgical education and skill development. The curriculum spans multiple specialties, including orthopedics, trauma, cardio-thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic surgery, fostering a truly multidisciplinary learning environment. All programs will be small-group, hands-on, and internationally accredited, ensuring realistic, high-fidelity surgical education. Participants will be guided by expert mentors as they refine their skills.
Our motivation
“We also view it as our mission to facilitate the preclinical evaluation of the latest medical technological advancements. With the approval of the Scientific and Research Ethics Committee (SREC), we engage in the real human anatomical testing of novel surgical procedures and devices led by recognized specialists and both domestic and European medical device manufacturers.
Our objective is to advance the integration of worthy solutions into clinical practice, thereby assisting in the prompt recovery of numerous patients.”
