AICER – Anatomy & Innovation Center for Education and Research is designed to be one of Central Eastern Europe’s most advanced translational medical facilities, the building will host cutting-edge surgical education, biomechanical research, and medical technology validation.

AICER will be inaugurated in early 2026 and is expected to operate at full capacity across all areas by the end of the year, after which AICER will be hosting international cadaver-based courses, translational research programs, and MedTech validation projects.

Surgical Innovation

AICER is Semmelweis University’s new research center. It represents a unique convergence of education, research, and technology. The facility includes 9 cadaver operating rooms (2-12 stations each), which are equipped for simultaneous training and research and capable of hybrid, minimally invasive, and open surgery, as well as endoscopic and ultrasound-guided interventions, with potential room for robotic interventions.
