Generally:

  • maintaining and improving the mental and physical health of students
  • helping students to fulfil their potential
  • identifying the cases where professional help might be needed

For Mentees:

  • thorough support during the first academic year
  • assistance with the early challenges of studying abroad
  • help with the integration and socialization
  • close contact with a trustworthy fellow, to whom one can turn during difficulties

For third-year students or above:

  • putting experiences gained so far to good use and trying out what it means to be in a supporting role
  • improving communication and advisory skills (both of which will be particularly important when working as a doctor)
  • learning about stress management and widening the knowledge about the educational infrastructure
