Karolina attended the EMBO Workshop “Neuronal Autophagy: from circuit function to therapy” in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Spain, as an invited speaker. The conference brought together leading scientists and early-career researchers working at the intersection of neuroscience, autophagy, aging, and neurodegeneration. The workshop featured outstanding talks covering topics from neuronal proteostasis and synaptic remodeling to mitochondrial quality control and therapeutic approaches for brain disorders. Beyond the exceptional science, the meeting also provided a truly inspiring atmosphere and fantastic opportunities for discussion and networking in a beautiful seaside venue. Karolina presented our latest work on human cell reprogramming and brain aging, and also had the pleasure of serving as a member of the poster jury, engaging with many exciting projects from young researchers across the field. The meeting highlighted the rapid progress of neuronal autophagy research and opened many new perspectives for future collaborations and ideas.
