We were thrilled to take part in the 2025 UniStem Day, hosted at Central European University (CEU), as part of a global celebration of stem cell research and education. UniStem Day has been running for over 17 years. During the last edition, almost 100 universities and research centres in 13 different countries opened their doors to 30 000 high school students, all working together to bring the excitement of science closer to young minds.

In the morning session, Dr. Csaba Kerepesi gave an inspiring talk on aging clocks and introduced our vision for rejuvenating neurons as part of our HUN-REN SZTAKI–Semmelweis University Rejuvenation Group. His presentation sparked curiosity and lively discussions about the future of aging research and the promise of cellular rejuvenation.

The afternoon was all about hands-on experience. We hosted four interactive workshops for 32 students from four different high schools, offering them a deeper look into the world of stem cells, aging, and the importance of both basic and translational research. The students came with open minds and left with great questions.

It was truly an amazing day full of learning, sharing, and inspiring the next generation of scientists. We’re proud to have contributed to this international initiative and are already looking forward to next year!
