Karolina was invited by Joana Ferreira (MIA-Synapse Architecture Group) to visit the University of Coimbra in Portugal, where she gave a talk at the MIA seminars.

MIA Portugal – the Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing – is the first research institute in Southern Europe dedicated to the molecular and biological foundations of ageing. It aims to enhance the health and well-being of an ageing population by bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and its application in clinical and geriatric care. Beyond scientific innovation, MIA Portugal plays a crucial role in fostering connections between healthcare, social services, and business development.

Coimbra is an incredible city, and the research at MIA Portugal aligns closely with our group’s vision to better understand ageing and age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
