Check out our latest review about Fountain of youth – Targeting autophagy in aging published by Frontiers in Ageing Neuroscience. In this review we discuss the current clinical trials in which autophagy modulating therapies are applied to improve symptoms of neurodegenerative disorders. In addition, we summarize the available in vitro models that can recapitulate some key aspects of human neuronal aging and emphasize the need for more efficient tools in future neuronal rejuvenation studies targeting autophagy.
