Terms and Conditions (T&C)

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before using the online registration and payment interface for the Semmelweis Freshman Camp 2025. By registering and paying the participation fee, you agree to the Terms and Conditions and the event rules.

I. General provisions

1. Details of the Service Provider:

2. The Service Provider shall operate an online internet system (hereinafter referred to as the “System”) for the participation in the Semmelweis Freshman Camp 2025 and the provision of related services (accommodation, catering, programmes).

3. These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “GTC”) define the terms and conditions of the use of the service for the payment of the camp fee between the Service Provider and the person using its Internet system (hereinafter referred to as “Participant”), as well as the rights and obligations arising between the Service Provider and the Participant.

4. By clicking on the “Pay with Barion” button, the Participant accepts the terms and conditions of the Service contract and the provisions of these GTC. By entering into the contract, the Participant declares that he/she has read and accepted the terms and conditions of these GTC, in particular the information contained in Section II of the GTC, and that he/she has consented to the processing of his/her data required for the use of the Service within the scope of the GTC and the Data Management Information.

5. The contract concluded does not constitute a written contract, is not filed and is therefore not accessible subsequently. The conclusion of the contract is evidenced by the electronically stored purchase data, which the Service Provider keeps for the period specified in the legislation on accounting and taxation.

6. The contract between the Parties shall be concluded in Hungarian.

7. The Service Provider shall inform the Participant and the Participant expressly acknowledges that the Service Provider is entitled to unilaterally amend the GTC. In the event of any amendment to the GTC, the Service Provider shall notify the Participant by publishing the changes on https://semmelweis.hu/golyatabor at least eight (8) days prior to the effective date of the amendment.

II. Pre-contractual information pursuant to Article 11 of Government Decree No. 45/2014 (26.II.) on contracts concluded between persons not in possession of a valid title

1. The Service Provider shall inform the Participant of the following data. We kindly ask the Participants to study these data before applying and to finalize the application by payment (in the legal terminology: “conclude a contract”) only on the basis of this information.

  1. The relevant features of the Service, i.e. the Event, are set out in the Event’s data sheet. The payment interface contains full information on the price of the table fee in gross form, including VAT payable on a case-by-case basis, with a reference to the legal Hungarian currency, in “Ft” format. On the Provider’s website, the Participant can view all details without registration.

  2. The name of the service provider is given in point I.

  3. The company’s registered office, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address are listed in point I. The Supplier shall also act as the organiser of the Event. The name and postal address of the Event Organiser can be found in the description of the event or event.

  4.  The place of business of the Service Provider is the registered office indicated in point I. The consumer may address his complaints to any of the contact details of the Supplier indicated in point I.

  5. The total amount of the consideration for the contracted goods or services plus tax is indicated on the “shopping cart” page of the shopping interface, indicating the gross price.

  6. The Service Provider does not use open-ended or flat-rate contracts. The amount of the consideration shall include all costs related to the purchase.

  7. The Participant’s telecommunications service provider may charge a fee based on the Participant’s individual subscription or other contract with its telecommunications service provider for the Internet, mobile or other electronic connection to the Internet, mobile or other electronic connection of the device used to make the purchase (mobile phone, telephone, computer with Internet connection, tablet, etc.). However, the Service Provider itself does not apply a surcharge.

  8. The prices indicated include the total amount of the consideration plus tax expressed in Hungarian forints, gross prices, including VAT. Due to the nature of the service, it is not possible to indicate a unit price. The total amount of the consideration includes all costs. The payment and the electronic invoice will be delivered to the e-mail box provided by the Participant in real time and practically immediately. Performance of the service is automatic and the time limit for performance is immediate. The rules for handling complaints are set out in Section IX of this document.

  9. For information on the time limits and other conditions for exercising the consumer’s right of withdrawal and termination, please refer to point VI.

  10. The Service Provider shall not carry out any transactions in which the consumer would be obliged to reimburse the Service Provider’s reasonable costs due to the exercise of the consumer’s right of withdrawal and termination.

  11. The Service Provider operates a telephone helpdesk every working day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., which is at the Participants’ disposal at +36 30 285 8800 or at golyatabor@iocs.hu.

  12. Pursuant to Government Decree 151/2003 (IX. 22.) and its annex, the range of products sold by the Service Provider is not subject to warranty.

  13. The Service Provider is not a signatory to the Code of Conduct under the Act on the Prohibition of Unfair Commercial Practices against Consumers and has not signed up to it.

  14. The contract between the Service Provider and the Customer is concluded for a limited period of time, the duration of which is from the payment of the campsite fee until the end of the Event.

  15. The contract is not converted into a contract of indefinite duration.

  16. No deposit or other financial security shall be provided by the Participant to the Service Provider.

III. Details of the Customer

1. The Participant shall be fully responsible for all purchases and other activities associated with his/her account. The Participant agrees to immediately notify the Service Provider’s Customer Service Department in the event of any unauthorized use of his/her data or any other breach of security.

2. The Participant declares that his/her data have been entered in the System in accordance with the truth. The Service Provider shall not be liable for any damage resulting from the provision of incorrect, erroneous or false data or e-mail addresses during the purchase process. The Service Provider is responsible for the performance and invoicing of the Participant in accordance with the data provided by the Participant. The Participant may check and modify his/her data at any time. The Service Provider is entitled to delete obviously incorrect or false data and, in case of doubt, to verify the Participant’s authenticity.

3. (1) a) of the Act on electronic commerce services and certain aspects of information society services of 2001. The detailed rules on data protection are set out in the Privacy Policy.

4. During the shopping process, the Participant has the possibility to modify, delete or select new products from the shopping cart. On the subsequent “Payment” page, the Participant enters the details required for the purchase. If the data needs to be corrected, the Participant can do so without limitation as long as he/she has not clicked on the “Pay” button. The payment will then be made through the payment provider’s interface, depending on the payment method chosen.

5. The Service Provider shall exercise the utmost care in the processing and storage of personal data. However, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any damage caused by indefensible attacks that occur despite the exercise of reasonable care.

IV. How to shop online

1. Detailed rules on the payment procedure are available on the Service Provider’s website https://semmelweis.hu/golyatabor.

2. Online credit card and other payment methods are made through the Barion system. No credit card or other payment details are passed to the merchant. The service provider Barion Payment Zrt. is an institution supervised by the National Bank of Hungary, its licence number is H-EN-I-1064/2013.

3. If the Participant does not receive a confirmation of payment within a few minutes after payment, this is presumably due to a connection error. In this case, it is important that the Participant does not repeat the transaction, but immediately contacts the Service Provider’s Customer Service, which will rectify the problem.

V. Payment terms

1. Detailed rules on payment methods are available on the Service Provider’s website https://semmelweis.hu/golyatabor.

2. The Service Provider is not liable for any errors that may occur during the bank payment.

3. The Service Provider will send an automatic confirmation e-mail confirming the payment to the e-mail address provided by the Participant. The Participant shall be liable for any damage resulting from the provision of an incorrect e-mail address.

4. The Service does not allow for unpaid bookings. The payment and the electronic confirmation will be delivered to the e-mail address provided by the Participant in real time and immediately. Performance of the Service is automatic.

5. The Service Provider shall store the electronic proofs of payment at its own headquarters or in the server park where the servers are stored. The Provider shall send an electronic invoice to the Participant for the transaction. An electronic invoice is an invoice that contains the invoice data in the form of electronic symbols. An electronic invoice can only be issued, transmitted and stored in electronic form, and its paper version cannot be used as an original authentic document. The e-invoice shall be issued automatically by the Service Provider on the basis of the data provided by the Participant, with the intervention of an e-invoice service provider. By initiating the payment process, the Participant expressly declares that he accepts the e-invoice.

VI. Right of withdrawal and termination

 

1. If the Participant exercises his/her right of withdrawal before 11 August, 100% of the camp fee paid will be refunded. If the Participant exercises his/her right of withdrawal after 11.08.2025, we will not be able to refund the paid fee.

2. If the Participant lawfully withdraws from the contract before the date described in point 1, the Service Provider shall refund the total amount paid by the consumer as consideration without delay, but no later than fourteen days from the date of its knowledge of the withdrawal. The Provider shall reimburse the balance in the same way as the payment method used by the Participant.

3. If the Participant wishes to exercise his/her right to withdraw from or terminate the contract, he/she may do so in writing and only electronically. The notice of termination must be sent to the Service Provider at the following e-mail address: golyatabor@iocs.hu .

VII. Limits to the Service Provider’s Service

1. The Participant acknowledges that due to the characteristics of the Internet, the continuous operation of the System may be interrupted despite the prior knowledge and intention of the Service Provider. Accordingly, the Service Provider does not guarantee that the Service and the related website will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that access to the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

2. The Service Provider is entitled to suspend the Service in whole or in part for maintenance of the Service or the related website or for other security reasons without any prior notice or information.

3. The extent of liability shall not exceed the value of the purchase transaction.

4. The Participant acknowledges that the Service Provider shall not be liable for any damage or misuse arising during or as a result of payment by credit card.

VIII. Rules applicable to the Event

1. The Service Provider is obliged to conduct the Event as advertised. The name and other identification details of the Supplier are set out in Section I. The legal relationship and the obligation to provide services in connection with participation in the Event shall be established between the person paying the campsite fee and the Service Provider. This legal relationship is defined by the Event and by the regulations on the official website of the Service Provider.

2. By paying the camping fee, the Participant declares that he/she has read and acknowledged the rules of the Event and accepts to be bound by its provisions. The Semmelweis Stork Camp Rules are available on the official website of the Service Provider: https://semmelweis.hu/golyatabor

3. The Service Provider may remove any Participant who violates the conditions of participation, the rules of the Event or the premises of the institution where the Event is held, the instructions of the security service and other law enforcement agencies in order to ensure the safe conduct of the Event and the uninterrupted entertainment of the Participants present at the Event. The Service Provider shall not be liable to pay any compensation in the event of exclusion for such reason.

4. The Service Provider shall do its utmost to inform the Participant in the event of cancellation of the Event and to facilitate the refund of the camping fee. The Participant acknowledges, however, that in the event of the cancellation of the Event, the Service Provider shall decide on the procedure, venue and deadline for the refund of the camping fee and shall be responsible for its implementation. The Service Provider will immediately publish the refund details on its website https://semmelweis.hu/golyatabor. The Service Provider shall not be liable to compensate for any damage or costs, whether actual or perceived, in addition to the price of the campsite fee, which must be fully refunded by the person making the refund.

5. If, as a result of war, riot, terrorist act, strike, accident, fire, blockade, flood, natural disaster, serious energy supply disruption or any other unforeseeable and unavoidable obstacle beyond the control of the Participant or the Service Provider, one of them is unable to fulfil any of their contractual obligations, that person shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by these events.

IX. The complaints handling procedure

1. The registered office of the Service Provider, the place of complaint handling, the mailing address, e-mail address, Internet address and telephone number of its customer service are specified in Section I of the GTC.

2. The Participant may communicate his/her complaint regarding the conduct, activity or omission of the Service Provider directly related to the service or its sale to the Service Provider orally or in writing by sending an e-mail to golyatabor@iocs.hu. The Service Provider will promptly investigate the oral complaint and, if possible, remedy it immediately. If the Participant does not agree with the handling of the complaint or if it is not possible to investigate the complaint immediately, the Service Provider shall immediately take minutes of the complaint and its position on the complaint and shall provide a copy of the minutes to the Participant in person in the case of an oral complaint communicated in person, or to the Participant at the latest at the same time as the substantive response in the case of an oral complaint communicated by telephone or other electronic communication service.

3. The Service Provider shall respond to the written complaint in writing within thirty days of receipt and send it to the Participant, primarily to the e-mail address provided by the Participant. The Service Provider shall state the reasons for its rejection of the complaint. In the event of rejection of the complaint, the Service Provider shall inform the Participant in writing of the authority or conciliation body to which he/she may refer the complaint, depending on its nature. The correspondence address of the competent authority or the conciliation body at the place where the Service Provider is established must be provided.

4. The Service Provider does not carry out a public service activity and is therefore not subject to the special legal rules applicable to service providers carrying out such activities (operation of a special customer service, extended opening hours, advance booking, continuous availability, five-minute check-in time, customer protection adviser, etc.).

X. Final provisions

1. These GTC are written in Hungarian and shall be interpreted in accordance with the rules of Hungarian law.

2. In matters not regulated in these GTC, the relevant provisions of the Civil Code shall apply accordingly.
