Dear newly admitted student,
Congratulations on your successful admission, and welcome to the Semmelweis University community!
We are pleased to invite you to the official Freshman Camp of Semmelweis University, which will take place from September 4 to 7, 2025, in Zánka Sport and Eventcentre at the Lake Balaton. The camp is a great opportunity to make new friends even before the academic year begins, meet your future classmates and senior students, and get a glimpse into university life.
Semmelweis University, the Semmelweis Students’ Union, and the Unprompted Group of Instructors (IÖCS) have been working for months to make this camp an unforgettable experience for you — we truly hope many of you will join us! On this website, you’ll find all the important information about registration, programs, and practical details. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help!
The Semmelweis Freshman Camp
The Freshman Camp of Semmelweis University has a tradition spanning more than half a century, with the first editions dating back to the early 1970s. Over the decades, the camp has taken place in various locations, including Várgesztes and Tata, and in 2025, it will be hosted in Zánka Sport and Eventcentre.
The Freshman Camp is usually held in late August or early September, offering participants a wide range of exciting and engaging activities: university forums, sports days, beach days, inter-faculty cooperative games, and in the evenings, live concerts and themed parties add color to the program. One of the unique features of the camp is its annually changing theme, which is reflected in the decorations, events, and overall atmosphere.
Freshmen are welcomed by instructors in self-operated service units, where they are offered delicious meals, refreshing drinks, and a variety of creative programs to ensure a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you with open arms!
