CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – OUTSTANDING DOCTORAL SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR AWARD 2025

The Doctoral Students’ Union (DÖK) of Semmelweis University invites applications for the “Outstanding Doctoral Supervisor of the Year Award 2025.”

Purpose of the Award

The award aims to recognize those doctoral students and doctoral candidates who demonstrate exceptional commitment to mentoring the next generation and, as supervisors, significantly contribute to their students’ scientific achievements and publication performance.

Eligibility

Applications may be submitted by any individual who:
– is a full-time, part-time, or individual preparation doctoral student of any doctoral school of Semmelweis University, or a doctoral candidate who obtained the absolutorium no more than one year ago;
– in 2025 supervised at least one TDK (Students’ Scientific Association) student whose TDK project received an award with the student as first author;
– is not currently subject to disciplinary proceedings and whose student status is not suspended.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted electronically to dok@semmelweis.hu.
Required documents:
– completed application form (including self-assessment);
– TDK certificate(s) verifying the achieved results and the supervisory role;
– list of referenced publications (MTMT) or the first page of the articles.

Only properly verified items will be considered during the scoring process. No additional documentation may be submitted after the deadline.

Deadline

The application deadline is 30 January 2026, 23:59.

Award and Announcement of Results

The awardee will receive the certificate at the opening ceremony of the 2026 TDK Conference. The awardee will be notified following the decision.
The award consists of a one-time 300,000 HUF scholarship, which will be divided equally in the event of a tie.
