Máté Berczi (MD) works at Semmelweis University, Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy. He obtained his specialist qualification in anaesthesiology and intensive therapy in 2022 and was awarded the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) in 2024. He also serves as a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) doctor with the Hungarian Air Ambulance and continues to work part-time with the National Ambulance Service.

As a member of the department’s Educational Board, Dr. Berczi is responsible for instructor education and faculty development, and is involved in organizing the Simulation Masterclass, a postgraduate train-the-trainer program promoting excellence in medical simulation. He is an ERC-certified instructor (ALS, EPALS, ETC).

Dr. Berczi is the course director of the Cadaveric Airway School, an advanced, multiagency training program dedicated to high-fidelity airway management education. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Semmelweis University, focusing on individualized thrombolytic therapy in pulmonary embolism.

His main professional interests include difficult airway management, medical simulation, advanced haemostasis, and point-of-care ultrasound.
