Klára Gyimesi (MD) began her career at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy at Uzsoki Street Hospital in Budapest, where she obtained her specialist qualification in anaesthesiology in 2019. Her main professional interests include anaesthesia for major abdominal surgery and intensive care.
In 2025, seeking new professional challenges, Dr. Gyimesi joined the National Institute of Oncology, which plays an outstanding role in the care of patients with tumours. The institute hosts the country’s largest thoracic surgery department, serving as the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Semmelweis University, and has been the national centre for lung transplantation since 2015. Its multidisciplinary intensive care unit provides an optimal environment for the recovery of critically ill postoperative patients.
Dr. Gyimesi places particular emphasis on airway management, especially the management of difficult airway situations and the teaching of these skills.
