Klára Török (MD, PhD) graduated from Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2003. She obtained her general surgery specialist qualification in 2008 and her thoracic surgery specialist qualification in 2012.
Since 2012, she has been a specialist at the Thoracic Surgery Center of the National Institute of Oncology, and since 2014, she has been a specialist at the Thoracic Surgery Clinic of Semmelweis University. Her professional interests focus on the surgical treatment of lung and mediastinal tumors, as well as minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques (VATS, robotic surgery). As a transplant surgeon, she participates in the Hungarian lung transplant program. She gained her international experience through several European training courses, including laryngo-tracheal surgery courses, VATS segmentectomy and robotic surgery training, and a study trip to the Vienna Lung Transplant Center.
Her scientific work focuses on the immunological characterization of lung tumors and the investigation of the immunophenotype of KRAS-mutant adenocarcinomas and neuroendocrine lung tumors. She obtained her PhD degree in 2025. As an educator, she has been involved in the practical training of medical students in thoracic surgery since 2014.
