Dr. Balázs Hauser is an associate professor at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy and the Institute of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Patient Care, where he leads the pediatric anesthesia service.
He is board certified in anaesthesiology and intensive therapy, emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, and pediatric emergency medicine. After several years of critical care research in the large animal laboratory at the University of Ulm, Germany, he earned a PhD at Semmelweis University with a dissertation on experimental therapies in a porcine model of resuscitated endotoxemia.
He has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education for decades, serves as the National Course Director for the ERC EPALS Course, and teaches adult and pediatric airway management.
He is a member of several international societies (ESAIC, ESPA, ERC, ESICM) and sits on the boards of the Hungarian Society of Pediatric Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy, the Hungarian Society of Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy, and the Hungarian Resuscitation Council.
