Ákos Iliás MD works at Semmelweis University, Department of Internal Medicine and Oncology, and Head of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Unit. He completed his internal medicine board certification in 2012, and became a certified gastroenterologist in 2017. After several years of clinical and endoscopic work in Germany, where he also served as Head of Endoscopy, he returned to Hungary and now leads endoscopic services and clinical research projects.
In 2021, he earned a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease and actively contributes to national and international research collaborations, publications, and conferences. Dr. Iliás is a board member of the Colon Section of the Hungarian Society of Gastroenterology and supervises PhD and undergraduate research projects. His main interests include IBD, endoscopy, and clinical trials.
