During this course students will spend 3.5 weeks in our Department. 1.5 weeks are reserved for home study and oral exam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Address: Pediatric Center T\u0171zolt\u00f3 street Department (1094 Budapest, T\u0171zolt\u00f3 u. 7-9.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After signing in for the course in the NEPTUN system, the course will start on Monday in Lecture Hall, with a short administration and after the introduction, where you will get more detailed information about the course.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day, the health booklet will be checked.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fontos_div\">\n<p>We would like to inform you that prior to starting your Paediatric practice with the valid stamp for the respective year (incl. 5th, 6th year practices, dentistry, clinical work, nursing practice) an occupational healthcare clearance is obligatory.<\/p>\n<p>This should be organised through the University&#8217;s Occupational Healthcare Department.<\/p>\n<p>Occupational Healthcare can assist you with the necessary examinations, but please make sure you book an appointment well-before your practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>You can find every information on these 2 links:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/information\/aptitude-test\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/information\/aptitude-test\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/information\/aptitude-test\/faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/information\/aptitude-test\/faq\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You should bring a stethoscope, a lab coat and a (minimum surgery) mask with you for every practices.<\/p>\n<h5>Course structure:<\/h5>\n<p>The Pediatrics block will contain bedside practices, workshops, and consultations.<\/p>\n<h5>Bedside practices:<\/h5>\n<p>During the first two weeks the goal of the practices will be to teach students pediatric physical examination skills, while the second two weeks will focus on differential diagnostics. Please note that during the ward practices lab coat and a stethoscope is strictly required!<\/p>\n<h5>Consultations:<\/h5>\n<p>The purpose of the consultations is a practice-oriented, small group discussion on a given topic with a specialist. During the consultations an active participation of the students is expected.<\/p>\n<h5>Workshops:<\/h5>\n<p>Workshops are interactive classes, where you will acquire practical skills useful in emergency situations and everyday patient care.<\/p>\n<h5>Requirements, accountability:<\/h5>\n<p>According to university regulations, students are required to attend at least 90% of the block. Any further absence needs to be made up for. (2nd and 3rd week Thursday). You can sign up for these classes on Moodle, before the class starts go to the Secretaries\u2019 Office.<\/p>\n<p>Obtaining a signature in the Neptun system requires passing the complex practical exam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exam procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Practical exam<br \/>\n\u2022 OSCE exam (what was learned in the workshops)<br \/>\n\u2022 Complex physical examination at the bedside<\/li>\n<li>Oral exam (2 topics must be drawn)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The average of these gives the final grade.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fontos_div\">\n<p>The educational materials can be found in the e-learning system (Moodle) of Semmelweis University.
