Eml\u0151r\u00e1k eset\u00e9n kimutattuk, hogy a PMCA4 expresszi\u00f3ja a daganat el\u0151rehaladt\u00e1val jelent\u0151sen cs\u00f6kken, \u00e9s hormonreceptor-pozit\u00edv esetekben \u00f6sszef\u00fcgg\u00e9st mutat a betegek t\u00fal\u00e9l\u00e9s\u00e9vel. Eredm\u00e9nyeink nemcsak a daganatos betegs\u00e9gek alapvet\u0151 biol\u00f3gi\u00e1j\u00e1nak m\u00e9lyebb meg\u00e9rt\u00e9s\u00e9hez j\u00e1rulnak hozz\u00e1, hanem hossz\u00fa t\u00e1von az innovat\u00edv ter\u00e1pi\u00e1s strat\u00e9gi\u00e1k kidolgoz\u00e1s\u00e1t is el\u0151seg\u00edthetik.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"w-100\">\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div class=\"w-100 lead\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Research Focus<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"w-100\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Our research investigates the biochemistry and cell biology of calcium transport proteins, with a particular emphasis on their roles in shaping calcium signaling dynamics. We study how these proteins influence signal transduction in both healthy and cancerous cells, focusing on changes in their expression and function in breast tumors and BRAF-mutant melanoma.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"w-100\">\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div class=\"w-100\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A major focus of our work is the plasma membrane Ca\u00b2\u207a ATPase isoform 4 (PMCA4), which we identified as a suppressor of metastasis. In breast cancer, we found that PMCA4 expression is significantly reduced during tumor progression and correlates with patient survival in hormone receptor-positive cases.
